Judging
Judging panel:
The judging panel for qdos awards is appointed by the DIA qdos Awards Committee. Jurors are selected from eminent design industry professionals that represent diversity and excellence in design practices locally, nationally and internationally. The jury panel consists of three to seven multidisciplinary jurors that judge entries within their allocated category
The judging panel will assess each entry on its own design merits, using the following demonstrable criteria:
a) project philosophy and methodology
b) expression of the concept
c) cost effectiveness
d) material strategies and processes
e) use of sustainable resources and principles (if applicable).
The panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
There are 2 levels of awards:
An qdos gold is awarded to projects that demonstrate the highest level of achievement within its category in accordance with the judging criteria. More than one Award Winner, or none may be awarded in each category.
A qdos silver is awarded to projects that demonstrate high standards of professional design achievement in accordance with the judging criteria, but not to the level of a qdos gold. More than one qdos silver, or none may be awarded in each category.
